Educators in Independent schools are often tasked with the incredible responsibility of cultivating excellent and equitable schools. But, how do we truly know what we do in our schools works, and more importantly, for whom does it work? In Building Capacity: Data-Informed Leadership participants will explore the core principles of evidence-based leadership and reflect on how data-informed leadership can help interrogate and challenge disproportionality in their school spaces. Explore data use in schools as a mindset, as data literacy, and as collaborative inquiry through personal reflections, case studies, short readings, team protocols, and even a data "scavenger hunt" in your school. Do not worry - no math or statistics is required!

Building Capacity: Data-Informed Leadership is a two-week online learning experience that is primarily asynchronous with synchronous sessions as outline below. Learn with Dr. Kenny Graves, Professor in the Klingenstein Center's Two-Summers Master's Degree Program, Upper School Assistant Principal for Academic Life and Director of Studies at the Ethical Culture Fieldston School, and an expert in how technology, data, and equity intersect in independent schools. The Building Capacity workshop series is a partnership between the Klingenstein Center and Global Online Academy.

Workshop Dates and Technical Details

This online workshop is primarily asynchronous and will run from Monday, October 18 - Friday, October 29 via the Canvas LMS. There will be two synchronous sessions on Zoom during the workshop:
