The resources of Columbia University and New York City are a remarkable benefit to Klingenstein Center students. In addition to studying at one of the finest schools of education in the world, you have the resources of this extraordinary city at your disposal.

Housing

Teachers College offers affordable housing options within one block of the campus to full-time graduate students. Options include single rooms, suites, studios and one- or two-bedroom apartments. For convenience and affordability, many Klingenstein students elect to live on campus. Housing assignments at Teachers College are awarded on a "first-come, first-served" basis, and housing applications should be completed as early as possible; applicants are encouraged to apply for housing as soon as they are accepted to the program. Neighborhood

Teachers College is located in the Morningside Heights neighborhood of Manhattan. Residents enjoy easy access to parks with Riverside Park, Morningside Park, and Central Park nearby. Columbia campus is bordered by Broadway and Amsterdam Avenue, both of which offer a variety of restaurants, shops, and services. Some of the landmarks in the neighborhood include the Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine, Grant's Tomb, Tom's Restaurant and, of course, Columbia University.  Checkout Untapped Cities "15 Must-Visit Places in Morningside Heights" for some of the highlights of the neighborhood.

Transportation

The New York City Subway system's 1 train has stops at 125th Street and 116th Streets. Columbia is also served by the M4, M11, M104, and M60 buses. Additionally, Columbia University runs a free intercampus shutttle bus system which includes a stop at the 125th Street Metro North train station for commuters.
