Julia Alexander (she/her) has spent her career teaching and learning alongside elementary-aged students in grades Pre-K through 5. Currently, she is a first grade classroom teacher at the Princeton Day School in Princeton, NJ, where identity, inquiry and play are the heartbeat of her practice. In addition to her student-facing work, Julia is a trained facilitator with the National SEED Project, and has facilitated monthly SEED workshops for her colleagues at independent schools. She is a graduate of Barnard College, Columbia University, and holds an M.A. (Reading Specialist) and an M.Ed. (Private School Leadership, Klingenstein Center) from Teachers College, Columbia University. Attending KSI as a participant remains one of the most impactful professional experiences of her career. Julia and her spouse are the parents of two young children, with whom they love to read, play outside, and make music.
