Emily Pressman (she/her) has been on the faculty at St. Andrew's School in Middletown, Delaware–an all-gender, all-boarding school for 9-12 grade students–for more than twenty years. In her tenure, she has served as Chair of the History Department, Dean of Honor, III Form dorm parent, and Dean of Faculty Development. Currently, she serves as the Dean of Teaching & Learning, and teaches history and an interdisciplinary English class. She received both her undergraduate and graduate degrees in History from Yale University, with a focus on race, slavery, and civil rights in American history. Attending the Klingenstein Summer Institute in 2004 remains among her most powerful and formative professional development experiences and she is thrilled to have the chance to return each summer as a co-Lead Teacher for History. Emily serves at the pleasure of a perpetually overly-exuberant hound dog, Ruthie; in her free time, she enjoys baking, reading, travel, tracking down quirky historical monuments, and going to the theater any chance she gets.
