Shelby Stokes teaches in the English department at St. Luke’s School in New Canaan, CT. Prior to this, she taught English and Humanities at The Fieldston School, Riverdale Country School, and St. Paul’s School. At Riverdale, she served as Dean of Faculty for three years. She received her BA in English from Wesleyan University and her MA in English from the Breadloaf School of English at Middlebury College. She is an alum of KSI (1999), and she is forever grateful for how learning "think/pair/share" in her English cohort back then has, without fail, always transformed her quieter, more introverted English classes. She loves indoor cycling, trying and consuming new recipes, yoga for sanity and exercise, as well as going for walks in the woods with her partner and their basset-hound/lab mix puppy, Hummus.
